Our Story

Est. 1982

Housed in a Grade II listed building in the heart of the Village, Rajdoot was first opened by our father, Gias Chowdhury in 1982, making us one of the longest established restaurants in the area.  After many years of entertaining Wimbledon locals, the family-run business has now been handed over to his daughter and son Farzana and Shubon Chowdhury.  

 

Our chef, Mr L. Miah, is a highly experienced and an award winning chef. His talent and dedication for authentic Indian cooking has been passed down from his grandfather and father. 

 

Mr. Miah’s passion for using high quality ingredients with the authentic flavours, aromas and spices of India is very evident in his dishes. 

 

Mr. Rashid is our tandoori chef, is also a highly experienced tandoori chef. Having started his career over 25 years ago at Rajdoot, Mr. Rashid returned to the family-run restaurant to provide our customers with tender and succulent meat and freshly cooked indian breads. 

 

 

The rest of the team at Rajdoot includes a small but very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
